“How To Receive From God…Seedtime & Harvest”

In Genesis 8:22 it says;

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

We see that the seed has to have time before the harvest comes. If you are a Christian who is wanting God to bring forth His abundant life to you, the Word of God [which is the seed of God] has to have time to grow. If the farmer does not give his seed time to grow in the field, he will not receive a harvest. A Christian’s number one job is to give attention to the Word of God.

In Proverbs 4:20-23 it says,

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life.”

In the 20th verse God said to attend to or give attention to God’s Words. If time is not given to the Word of God, it will not produce in your life.

In Mark 4:14-20 it says,

“The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word and receive [it], and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.”

A born again Christian receives from God just like a farmer receives a crop from his field. The process of plowing, cultivating, planting, weeding, and watering is what we have to do spiritually. The Word of God is seed. If it is not planted in a good heart and given time to grow without intrusion, it will not produce a harvest. Just listening to a preacher on Sunday or Wednesday Night is not enough for God’s blessing to come upon a person. There must be diligence, just like a farmer is diligent in his field. If you put these things to work they will produce for you God’s desires.

Get ready to spend the rest of your life in God’s field, which is God’s Word. If you have grown cold in your love for the Bible, pick it back up. God’s got many things in store for you, but you have to grow them in your heart by planting His seed and keeping your heart with all diligence until you see the harvest come. God is no respecter of persons, He will not bless one person and not bless another person. He will not heal one person and not heal another person. He has done His part, He has given us seed. If we keep it in our hearts, and don’t let the devil steal it from us, the good life is right around the corner for us.

Don’t blame God when you are not receiving a harvest in your life. Check your field, your heart, and see if it needs attention.

I love you,

Pastor Paul

P.S. I’m always praying for you!
