“Making God’s Word Reality”

In II Timothy 3:16-17 we read;

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

The Bible is not a story book, a history book, or a religious text book. It is a book of life, the God-kind of life. It is a road map for successful living. Many people are lost and confused. They don’t know where they are going in life. They need the road map of God’s Word to show them where to go. We see in the preceding scripture that all scripture, not some, but all scripture is profitable. In other words, every word in the Bible is given to us to benefit us and perfect us, to make us whole and complete, with nothing lacking in our lives here on the earth.

Now, listen to what Jesus had to say: In Matthew 4:4 we read;

“It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

How are we supposed to live? By every word that proceeds out of God. The Bible is God-breathed. It is God’s spoken Word to the Christian today. In John 6:63 we read;

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

Most Christians say that they believe the Word of God without exception; but if you listen to the way they talk, you begin to realize that they really don’t believe what God’s Word says. They have given mental agreement, but down in their heart they haven’t developed an image of the truthfulness of God’s Word. In order for the Christian to experience God’s Word as a reality in everyday life, they must begin to receive it as absolute truth.

In Numbers 23:19 we read;

“God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent; hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good.”

I like to look at the Bible like this. In order for the Bible to become absolute truth in my life, I must get this principle established in my heart.

1) Is all scripture from God? Yes.

2) When God spoke, did He know what He said? Yes.

3) When God spoke, did He mean what He said? Yes.

4) Then that settles it; I must believe what He said in order for it to become a reality in my life.

As I close, be encouraged and allow God’s Word to become a reality in your life. When God’s Word says you are healed, or says that He will meet your needs, or says that He will never leave you or forsake you, just begin to meditate on the fact that God knew what He said, he meant what He said, and you just need to believe what He said. When you become established in this principle, God’s Word will be a reality in your life.
