Remember when we were kids, and we used to play all of those games like Simon Says, Mother May I, and Red Light-Green Light? In these games one person was the caller, and the objective of the game was to be the first one to reach them or the last one standing so you could then be the caller.
'Red light-Green Light' really stands out in my head though. Green light gives you permission to go and Red light means you have to stop. I see this to be so true in our Christian lives. God has given us the ability to say what we desire, but we keep saying what we have. In other words, instead of keeping the light green we are keeping it red.
Let me give you a few examples…
In Mark 11:24 we read;
“Therefore I say unto you, whatever things ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
In Psalms 103:20 we read;
“Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.”
In Hebrews 10:23 we read;
“Let us hold fast our profession of our faith without wavering (for he is faithful that promised).”
What we see here, in these passages, is that the angels need a green light to do what we desire. When we say what God’s Word says, the angels have a green light to bring it into our lives; but when we change our confession, we turn on the red light, and the angels stop. Faith-filled words turn on the green light; and words of doubt, fear and unbelief turn on the red light.
In Mark 5:22-43, we read about a man named Jairus. His daughter was sick, near death and he came to Jesus. Jairus said to Jesus, “If you will lay hands on my daughter she will be healed and live.” Jairus gave Jesus the green light, and they were on their way. Later someone from the synagogue came and told Jairus his daughter was dead. Jesus said, “Be not afraid, only believe.” In other words He said, “Keep the light green-hold fast to your confession, don’t make the light red by changing your confession.” Jairus kept the light green, and his daughter was healed.
As I close, let me encourage you to say and agree with what God says in His Word. God gave you a free will, and He needs permission to work in your life. He needs a green light. Keep the light green by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth faith-filled words.
